Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Vet Discount 50%)
The good news is that there is a fast, effective and relatively simple treatment for PTSD. It is generally not used by licensed mental health providers and does not involve medication. The treatment —Time Line Therapy—was developed primarily by Tad James, PhD. You can read more about it at: www.timelinetherapy.net/whattlt.html People who develop PTSD experienced earlier events, often in childhood, that evoked the same emotions that stoke their current mental suffering. These "root causes" may not involve terror, death or anything similar to what was experienced during the trauma or in the war zone. They just had to evoke the same emotions, which serve as an "anchor" for the later events. That's why some soldiers who experience terrifying events in combat don't develop PTSD. They don't have old emotional experiences for the combat experiences to lock onto. With Time Line Therapy, clients can float back and above the root cause of each emotion and release that emotional anchor. Once released, it's easy to clear that emotional reaction all the way forward to the present, including trauma or war zone experiences. PTSD generally involves several emotions—such as fear, anger, guilt and others—bundled together. Each emotion must be released separately. But once released, they are gone for good. Time Line Therapy can bring the anxiety tiger under control amazingly fast because it addresses the subconscious mind, which generates all our human emotions. Standard talk therapy attempts to correct these subconscious issues through the conscious mind--the rational part of the mind that tries to figure out the hows and whys of the disorder. By contrast, the subconscious mind KNOWS exactly where the anchors are and can quickly lead the client there because it has no reasoning skills to get in the way. Moreover, Time Line Therapy can be done without inducing that relaxed state associated with traditional hypnosis. One does not have to be a licensed psychologist or social worker to use it effectively. I am neither. I am a certified clinical hypnotist. I have used Time Line Therapy effectively with phobias and obsessive thinking. I have also taught the technique in my hypnosis classes at the I believe that vets who have been freed of PTSD can learn to use the technique along with some background information about the psyche to help their fellow PTSD sufferers...if they feel so drawn. A vet understands the issues of another vet better than anyone else. And so many are unable to get timely treatment through overloaded military channels. I envision a whole network of Army, Marine and National Guard vets helping fellow vets tame the PTSD tiger. And I am willing to give the training to a group of six or more interested vets free of charge once each has been freed of his own disorder. How many sessions? Releasing the emotions involved in PTSD could take from two to six sessions, depending on the complexity of your symptoms. Vets of |
